What is Nowruz?

The New Year of renewal and spring

Nowruz, literally meaning "New Day", is one of the oldest festivals in the world — celebrated for over 3,000 years at the spring equinox. Listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is celebrated by more than 300 million people worldwide.

For the Afghan community, Nowruz is the moment of gathering, forgiveness and collective joy. It is a universal symbol of hope, rebirth and new beginnings — values the VATANDAR association carries every day.
